Emily Ana Butler

Emily Ana started her dance career at 3 years old, dancing competitively by the age of 6, where she won numerous overall awards in both group and solo performances. She has also performed in Newmarket's production of The Nutcracker.

She then joined the Laurier Rec Dance program to continue training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary and also tried new styles such as Latin, Burlesque, and Heels. In 2019 she became an instructor for the Laurier Rec Dance Program, and taught a heels class focused on confidence building among women. She choreographed both drop-in combos and standard routines with 30+ dancers for showcase performances.

Throughout the pandemic, Emily Ana became an instructor for the Cloud Dance and Fitness Network, where she choreographed combos that were accessible online through the company's platform to promote healthy active lifestyles during the pandemic. She started an adult heels class with Cloud that promoted self-confidence among women and hosted both virtual and distanced in-person drop-in dance classes to continue the success of the Laurier Rec Dance Program during the pandemic. She was awarded the Golden Hawk Award of Excellence in 2021 for her outstanding contributions to the Laurier Rec Dance Program.

After graduating from Laurier, Emily Ana joined the University of Toronto (UofT) Pom Team in 2021, performing at UofT Varsity football and basketball games, and engaging in community events to represent UofT. She eventually became the UofT Pom Team co-choreographer while continuing to perform for the team, in which she helped choreograph sideline dances, half-time performances, as well as competition routines to compete in national pom and cheer competitions.

Emily Ana actively attends dance classes in Toronto with professional choreographers to expand her breadth of dance knowledge. Using her years of experience and her dedication to continue her own training, Emily Ana is eager to share her love of dance with the next generation, shaping them into beautiful and confident dancers!
